Long story short: ED is victim of circumstances aka collateral damage aka blamegoat|scapegoat.

ED was naivneness manipulated thrown into this misunderstanding mess. ED did not agree to any of it. They ignored opinion of ED aka did not care aka did not ask if ED wants to be part of it or not. ED was too busy with normal life because was limited therefore did not bother to notice extra until they started to inform..

Also ED not have problems with (one of) those around ED but (one of) those around ED might have problem(s) with ED. Either that or both ED and (one of) those around ED framed|set up in a conflictive way..someone benefits from problems of ED.

If had to guess then Sansa&Co(for example those who spy) also might be involved(witnessed) in what happened or did not happen at early childhood of ED somehow. There is some specific secret someone either wants to hide to prevent issues or reveal but cannot(under promise|vow).
